FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your PMU aftercare questions, answered

Find answers to common questions about healing, aftercare and returning to everyday activities. Your treatment-specific care guide always takes priority.

Why does the colour look darker immediately after treatment? The area may look darker or more defined at first because the skin has just been treated. The colour often softens as the skin heals. Healing varies by person and treatments.

What happen if the treated area becomes patchy? Patchiness can happen as different areas heal at different rates. Don't pick at the skin or cover the treated area with makeup while it heals. Wait until it is fully healed before assessing the result.

Can I take my usual medications before treatment? Don't stop or change prescribed medication without advice from your prescriber. Please let us know about your medications and supplements before booking so any relevant considerations can be discussed.

Can I wear makeup while the area is healing? Avoid applying makeup directly to the treated area until it has healed and any flakes or scabs have come away naturally. Follow the timing in your treatment-specific care guide.

When can I exercise swim or use a sauna? You can usually resume exercise once peeling has finished, unless your treatment-specific care guide advises otherwise. Return gradually, and avoid heavy sweating or friction if the area still feels sensitive. Follow your guide for swimming and sauna use.
